Rising Stars Conservatory at San Francisco Playhouse
Musical Theatre Summer Intensive – 1-Week Training + Showcase Performance
Come train with Rising Stars Conservatory at San Francisco Playhouse where you can develop your performance skills and immerse yourself in the world of musical theatre. This six-day summer intensive takes students through a deep exploration of the essential tools of the musical theatre performer and ends with a fun, fast-paced showcase presentation on the San Francisco Playhouse stage!
Students will receive daily training in dance, voice and acting led by high-caliber bay area theatre professionals to develop their knowledge and tools to be a successful performer. There are two sessions grouped by grade levels where students will learn musical numbers from iconic musical theatre shows while delving into performance training to create an evening of spectacular performances from both groups of young artists.

Teaching Artist & Program Director Bio
Nicole Helfer is an award-winning performing artist, choreographer, director and teacher. She has over 25 years of experience in the bay area theatre scene, both on and off the stage. She received her BA and teaching credential at San Francisco State University. Her diverse training background includes many styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, Afro-Haitian and Dunham technique. In addition to her diverse theatre training in devised theatre, Meisner technique, clowning, and puppetry, she has trained at the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre and with master teachers from SITI Company where she fell in love with Viewpoints/Suzuki Movement Training for Actors. Nicole is also an accomplished singer and musical theatre performer. Previously she ran the Theatre Department at Oakland School for the Arts and she was an Artist in Residence at Ruth Asawa School for the Arts. Currently she is a choreographer and performer at San Francisco Playhouse and teaches at ODC Dance Commons in SF.
