River (they, them) is a multi-disciplinary Bay Area theatre artist. They have worked in companies around the Bay Area including San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Co. (SFBATCO), Cutting Ball Theater, Ray of Light Theatre, Palo Alto Players, Children’s Fairy Land, Oakland Theatre Project, SPARC, Town Hall Theatre Company, New Conservatory Theatre Center, and Theatre Rhinoceros. Recent work includes various roles in Variety Pack (Cutting Ball Theater), a Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show (Ray of Light Theatre), choreographer for Mean Girls (Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory). Other credits include directing a staged reading of The Re-Education of Fernando Morales by Justin P. Lopez (Town Hall Theatre Company) and Bad Hombres (Theatre Rhinoceros). They are the author of an award-winning thesis that explores the ways Latiné theatre artists advocate for equity in the theatre industry. They are deeply invested in creating theatre that openly challenges white supremacy culture in content and process. They earned a BFA in musical theatre from Emerson College. @_riverberate_
