Phil Wong

Phil (he, him) is a multi-hyphenate, award-winning theatre artist from Oakland. He returns for his third production at San Francisco Playhouse after playing Bing and Judge Xu Geming in Chinglish and Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps. Recent regional credits include Duch in the national tour of Cambodian Rock Band (A Contemporary Theatre, Seattle), Louis in Revenge Song (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), and a guest artist in the national tour of the Tony award-winning Freestyle Love Supreme (American Conservatory Theater, Portland Center Stage). Local credits include work with TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, California Shakespeare Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Z Space, Word for Word, Shotgun Players, Lamplighters Musical Theatre, Killing My Lobster, Hillbarn Theatre, Los Altos Stage Company, Palo Alto Players, Ray of Light Theatre, BACT (RIP), The EXIT (RIP), and The Cutting Ball Theater (RIP). As a playwright, Phil’s first play Sic, Heung, Mei 色香味 was recently developed at the 2024 Ground Floor Summer Residency Lab at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
