Joel (he, him) is a multiple award-winning actor, director, and playwright who is honored to make his San Francisco Playhouse debut. For the last twenty years, he has performed all over the Bay Area with many companies, including Shorenstein Hays Nederlander Theatres, Shotgun Players, Ray of Light Theatre, Center REPertory Company, The Eugene O’Neill Foundation Tao House, Contra Costa Musical Theatre, and Berkeley Playhouse. Favorite credits include Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher (Berkeley Playhouse), Leon Czolgosz in Assassins (Ray of Light Theatre), and Pablo Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Town Hall Theatre Company). An arts educator and arts administrator since 2002, Joel has taught over two thousand students over his tenure as a public and private acting coach and is a freelance grant writer for nonprofit arts organizations. The founder and artistic director of The Other Other Theatre Company (or TOOTCo), he currently resides in Pleasant Hill with his incredibly supportive partner, Jenn, and their brilliant and insane beagle, Chava.
