2020/21 Season FAQ
Act I of our 2020/21 Season will feature on-demand streaming video content. We are enacting measures to make it as easy as possible to access these streams.
Tickets for the three shows in Act I are now available on our website. After purchasing tickets to the show of your choice, you will receive an email with a video access link to view the on-demand video of the production.
Once you’ve booked your ticket you’ll receive a confirmation email. It’s important that you confirm you have received this email so we can be sure we have the correct email address for you.
The tickets will be valid for the time frame listed (2-4 weeks). You will receive a reminder email 24 hours before the chosen performance can be viewed and another reminder a few days before the window to view the show closes. Once the duration of a production has ended, you will not be able to view the video on demand any longer.
TROUBLESHOOTING TICKET BOOKING ISSUES
If you experience an error message or have any other questions regarding your booking, please contact our box office team who will do their best in assisting you, troubleshooting the issue with you, and answering your questions. Contact the box office team at [email protected] or at (415) 677-9596.

All shows in Act I will be streamed on an embedded video player via our ticketing platform, VBO. You will be able to watch on your phone, tablet, laptop, or any device with a modern web browser and video capability.
You can watch our video content on your TV if you can connect your computer, tablet, or smartphone to your TV and use it as an external display. This can be achieved with an HDMI cable or by using Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast. For our suggestions on connecting to your TV, click here.
FOR SINGLE EVENTS
We encourage you to buy one ticket per person. While only one ticket is necessary per viewing device, your ticket purchases help us keep our theatre alive and support all the artists involved in the process. It is very important to note that each video access link is unique and you will not be able to access it on multiple devices.
FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions include access to any eventual in-person events at our theatre this season, and only one seat will be allocated per subscription. While only one ticket is necessary per viewing device for our video content, we encourage you to buy one subscription per person watching. This will not only support our mission of keeping the theatre alive and paying our artists, but will ensure that you have a seat allocated to your subscription once we are able to conduct in-person shows at our theatre venue again.
WHAT ABOUT BUYING TICKETS FOR FRIENDS?
When you purchase multiple tickets, your confirmation email will include an option to send individual tickets to your friends. Transfers are not reversible, and videos cannot be shared between multiple devices.
Tickets for San Francisco Playhouse’s 2020/21 Season on-demand performances are $15-$100. Season Subscription packages are $200-$300.
We’re asking people to pay what they normally would for this performance at the theatre – it’s our way of replacing box office income now all our usual channels of revenue have been entirely wiped out. Everyone will get the same view regardless of which ticket they buy.
If you plan on watching on the same screen with a group please consider chipping in to buy a single higher price ticket if you arere able.
Instead of preview tickets, we are offering tiered pricing across all performances. Everyone will have the same opportunity to access each price tier.
There is no difference between the tickets, other than the amount of support that you will be giving to San Francisco Playhouse. As a nonprofit organization, we’re asking people to pay what they normally would for a night out at the theatre – it’s our way of replacing box office income now all our usual channels of revenue have been entirely wiped out. Everyone will get the same view regardless of which ticket they buy.

As the season progresses, we hope to be able to present in-person plays for live audiences at our theatre in Act II and/or Act III. Depending on social distancing guidelines, we may do assigned seating, general admission, or a hybrid of online/general admission seating for those shows.
We will do our best to accommodate seating preferences and medical needs while keeping everyone safe.
