Sneak Peek: “The Christians” Set Pictures

Our hardworking carpenters, electricians, and designers are working tirelessly to transform our theatre from 1930s Hungary to a megachurch in Middle America. The set of The Christians, designed by Bill English, will feature working big-screen TVs, raised platforms for a live choir, and an enormous white cross.

The Christians set

Seen from the Playhouse mezzanine, the set of ‘The Christians’ is taking shape. behind the theatre’s false proscenium.

The Christians podium

Four high-backed chairs line the front of the risers on which the choir will stand.

The Christians Cross

An enormous white faux-marble cross looms over Pastor Paul’s megachurch.

No intermission ?? That’s a problem ! listen up … you have a beautiful and gorgeous bar area with superior service and a reservations option bar none!

I have Friends that fly in from New York and really enjoy your ultimate reservation experience with tables waiting with your hors d’oeuvres and drinks at intermission.

We are going to take a pass on the Christians however… Because the thought of sitting for 90 minutes without a break is not appealing… And we don’t get that superior bar offer.,

We really enjoy your shows, and we are in our late 50s… Your Playhouse is unique and wonderful, and extraordinarily well priced… Don’t miss The boat on this one… Reinstall the intermission and you’ll double your ticket sales.

Thank you for a wonderful organization, your performers are unique and wonderful.

Hi Jon! Thanks for your interest in the show, and for the kind words.

We’re presenting ‘The Christians’ as it was written by Lucas Hnath. We’re not actually “installing” or “uninstalling” intermissions in any of the works we produce; we’re simply staging them as they were written.

We hope to see you back at the theatre soon!
